Inclusive education
Inclusive education: Teaching students with learning difficulties and disabilities in mainstream classrooms is a comprehensive professional development program for all teachers in all classrooms. The program:
- develops an understanding of philosophy, benefits and processes of inclusive education.
- develops an understanding of the pivotal role that a teacher's beliefs and pedagogy play in extending curriculum access to all students
- critically discusses and trials various strategies
- shows how to develop collaborative working relationships between teachers through the building of a shared understanding of how to develop inclusive practices across schools.
Tutor Training Program
- This program is an intensive five-day train-the-trainer professional development program for teachers.
- Tutor training is delivered in host schools around the world to small groups of between 10 and 20 teachers.
- Successful graduates of the training become resident school-based Tutors who deliver the Teacher Development Course. This provides your school with cost-effective, school-managed professional development.
There are now more than 2000 Unlocking the World licensed Tutors working in over 50 countries around the world. Using our programs, these Tutors have provided professional development to over 23,000 teachers.
Teacher Development Course
As an Inclusive education trained Tutor, you can deliver the Teacher Development Course in your own school.
The course incorporates group workshops, classroom-based activities and highly practical readings. It provides teachers working across the curriculum with successful classroom strategies for improving the learning achievements of students with learning difficulties and disabilities in mainstream classrooms.
Trained Tutors deliver 27 hours of face-to-face learning in nine modules which, when combined with between module readings and activities, is equivalent to more than 45 hours of professional development for teachers.

Module 3: Curriculum design and programming to support all students
Module 4: Individual Education Plans
Module 5: Effective teaching and learning: Supporting all students (Part A)
Module 6: Effective teaching and learning: Supporting all students (Part B)
Module 7: Monitoring, recording and reporting student learning
Module 8: Working collaboratively with families, the school community and allied professionals
